BYTR AI ships with a provider registry that puts free-tier and local options first. Provider availability and limits change over time, so always confirm the current terms on the provider’s own website.
OpenRouter free models
OpenRouter exposes multiple OpenAI-compatible models, including free model variants when available. Add your own OpenRouter key in BYTR AI Settings and select a free model.
Groq
Groq provides fast inference with a free tier. It is useful for chat, drafting, classification, and quick assistant responses.
Hugging Face
Hugging Face offers free inference access for supported models with a user token. It is a flexible option for experiments and model exploration.
Ollama
Ollama runs models locally and does not require a hosted API key. Install Ollama on a machine reachable by WordPress, then set the Ollama endpoint in BYTR AI Settings.
Important distinction
BYTR AI can preselect free/local providers, but it cannot create third-party accounts or expose private API keys. Add credentials that belong to your site and follow each provider’s terms and limits.
